This Tuesday, June 11th, from 9:30 to noon, we will have our next monitoring hike at Story Woods. A lot of wildflowers are starting to appear here because we have cleared out the garlic mustard and honeysuckle. Well, those wildflowers are threatened by Honeysuckle saplings that are trying to sneak back in. The work will not be very strenuous – there won’t be any steep hills to climb. So if you’d like to see a nice forest and work a bit to keep it that way, please join us if at all possible this Tuesday at 9:30am.
We will meet at the Story Woods parking lot. To get there, go out Rapid Run road and turn south on Pontius. If you’re coming from the direction of downtown Cincinnati, turn left on Pontius; if you’re coming from the direction of Saylor Park, turn right. The driveway to Story Woods is on the left a short distance from Rapid Run.
Bring work gloves, plenty of water, wear work clothes and shoes. Please call Tim @ 513.922.2104 for additional information.
We have one more project scheduled this spring, on Saturday, June 15 at the Buckeye Trace Preserve. This will be your chance to see this newest preserve, just purchased by WWC in March.
