Butterflies and the Changing Climate

Do you enjoy learning about butterflies and hearing current research? Then this is the event for you! Dr. Stephen F. Matter, Associate Professor at the University of Cincinnati, Department of Biological Sciences, will cover the basics of climate change and the many ways both direct and indirect that climate change affects populations of the Rocky Mountain Apollo butterfly, Parnassius smintheus. The talk will last approximately 50-60 minutes, with lots of time (30 minutes) for questions. We hope you can join us!

Cost: There is no fee for this session.

How to get there: The Kirby Nature Center is located at 2 Main Street, Addyston, OH 45001, just off River Road. To get there from north and east of Addyston, go west on Cleves Warsaw into Addyston, where the name changes to Main Street. Continue past South Road – there is a storage building on the corner on the right, then a stone wall with an opening for a driveway flanked by large stone pillars.
